You had me at cheesecakes!

A few days ago, a Facebook event caught my attention. The Cheesecake Factory will soon be opening in Singapore. Well not exactly The Cheesecake Factory itself but Beverly Hills Cheesecake will be featuring desserts from The Cheesecake Factory Bakery from the US. The store opened last Tuesday, 9th of July with a 20% off launch promotion until 11th July. The moment I saw this event, I got so excited and memories of my Cheesecake Factory experience in the US flashed back. I made plans to go on their opening day to take advantage of the launch promotion.

And so I went on their opening day. The queue wasn't so bad at all. I arrived at 1:40pm. There were quite a number of people around but most were just looking perhaps curious of what was going on. I looked at what was on their menu, they have cheesecakes and cupcakes. However, on that day only the cheesecakes were available. The display was not full and it gave me the impression that there were only limited flavours being sold that day. It was quite disappointing to see that a flavour preference is not available judging on the display. 4 minutes later I was queuing and 5 minutes later I reached the counter. Yes, the queue when I went was pretty short and fast.

There is a small flipchart at the counter displaying the menu. I chose 2 flavours that I know were not on display hoping that it's available. I ordered a slice of Godiva Double Chocolate Cheesecake and a slice of Reese's Peanut Butter Cheesecake. I heaved a sigh of relief when the cashier took my order and didn't say that it's not available. A slice is quite pricey at $10.90. 2 slices cost me $17.40 including the discount. Even with the 20% discount, I think it's still pretty costly.

I waited for about 5 minutes. My number was called and my order served at 1:55pm. Overall, I was there for only 15 minutes. One thing I've noticed in their packaging was the print, it says- The Cheesecake Factory At Home, so it's really meant for takeaway. Plus, there are no tables and chairs if you plan to hang out and enjoy some quiet time eating their cheesecakes. Each slice was individually packed and convenient to carry. I brought it home and shared it with the whole fam.

For cheesecake lovers like me, this is worth a try. It is more expensive than any other desserts out there. However, at the end of the day it would still save you a trip to the US if you are just looking at satisfying your cravings for The Cheesecake Factory's desserts.
Beverly Hills Cheesecake is located at B1-70 Raffles City Shopping Centre, 252 North Bridge Road (nearest MRT City Hall) and they are open from 10am-10pm.
